Daemon Tools Games



You’ll need a few bits of software to do this. It’s illegal (it shouldn’t be, but it is). The best place to get the software is from Torrent sites (file sharing networks). It’s fairly easy to do this, and instructions are fairly widely available.
There are three methods (starting with the most likely to work, but also the most complicated!):
Method 1:
1) On your desktop, create an ISO of the game’s CD. This doesn’t just copy the files, it takes a complete “image” of the disc. You can do this using programmes such as CloneDVD.
2) Copy the ISO to your laptop. If your USB flash drive is too small, (or if it’s FAT32, meaning you can’t copy big files to it) and your game is on DVD you can archive it and break it down into small files using WinRAR. Add the ISO to an archive and in the options, choose “multiple volumes”. Copy ALL of the files it creates to your laptop. Open the RAR file on your laptop and extract the ISO file, save it somewhere.
3) Download a Drive Emulator, such as Daemon Tools. Using this, you can “mount” the ISO on your laptop. The program will fool the computer into thinking it’s got a (”virtual”) CD/ DVD drive, and when you mount the ISO, it will think the original game CD has just been inserted.
4) Install the game.
5) Whenever you play it, you might need to mount the ISO. When you’re not playing it, you can “unmount” the ISO and change the number of “virtual drives” to zero so that the laptop no longer thinks it has a CD/DVD drive.
6) You could go to http://www.gamecopyworld.com and download a new “Game EXE” known as a NoCD crack. This overwrites the part of the original game (the part that checks to see if the CD is inserted) and replaces it with a new one (that doesn’t).
The second method (much easier):
1) Go to a torrent site and download the game
2) Follow the instructions, which will explain how to get the game running
The third method (very easy):
1) Share the CD on your main computer so that your laptop can connect to it and use it (you can do this on Windows Explorer, and need both computers on the same network).
2) Install the game on the laptop. Don’t try running it until you know if you need a “NoCD” crack or not.
3) Go to http://www.gamecopyworld.com and download a NoCD crack (if required, if one exists, download it). Follow the instructions to overwrite the old EXE.
Please be aware:
No 1 is illegal, but shouldn’t be.
No 2 is definitely illegal, perhaps justifiable since you already own the game, but by using file sharing you’re helping people who might not own the game to get a copy.
No 3 is, I think, legal - but I’m not entirely sure.
I’m always a little cautious about going to dodgy websites recommended by people I don’t know, and I realise that gamecopyworld sound like one of them! Google it to confirm, but I’ve been using it for a while and it’s always been very good.
EDIT: Just to address a point made in another answer, about NoCD cracks being a malware risk, they’re absolutely right. I’m pretty laid back about picking up viruses and whatnot, but I am very sharp when it comes to checking for them, and I have never picked one up on the computer that I install these cracks on. As a matter of course, I install NoCD cracks for every single game that I buy (about 1 a month) and I’ve never had a problem.
